I was able to return to Meteghan last week to try and find the lobsters I needed after not finding them all last time! I was only able to tag one female but it was interesting to see that none of the boats were getting large females, with or without eggs.
I would like to thank all the boats that helped to look for the female I needed! Sometimes it takes a village!
One really cool thing in LFA 34 is they switch to wooden traps during the spring season. They have been found to increase catch compared to the typical wire traps used. Although they are heavier for the crews, they seem to work well. Hopefully I will be back once the wooden traps are in to see if I can find the final 5 I need!
